Original Items: Only One Group Available. This is a great pair of service used Imperial Japanese binoculars. Both are in wonderful condition with clear optics and markings. . Field glasses have no internal prisms that can be knocked out of alignment so their main advantage is that they are durable, making them a good choice for file combat operations.

The Binoculars In This Lot:
- 6x24 Binos by Kaikosha: The binoculars are fully functional, with each side having an independent focus control. Optics are mostly clear, and able to focus accurately. These bear the KAIKOSHA K.T. for Kaikosha, an organization in Kudan, Tokyo. The original Kaikosha was founded before World War II as an organization exclusively of active-duty commissioned officers and warrant officers in the Imperial Japanese Army for mutual aid, friendship, and academic research, but was re-founded after the war to represent formerly high-ranking army officials.

The organization's name means “let’s go together” or “we shall fight this war side by side,” and derives from a line in an old Chinese poem recorded in the Book of Odes.
Kaikosha was a major organization and also a sort of company that engaged in the manufacture and sale of military equipment, especially clothing, for officers. In addition to the basic tailor-made clothes, Kaikosha sold ready-made clothes that became popular at the time of World War II. Tags were attached to Kaikosha-made clothing upon which a symbol such as a cherry blossom or pentagram was emblazoned across the letters “Kaikosha,” “Rikugun Kaikosha Gunjubu,” “Kudan Kaikosha,” or “Osaka Kaikosha Shuhobu.” Kaikosha stores also sold every variety of uniform, as well as military caps, gloves, boots, sabres, pistols, holsters, binoculars, and memorabilia from military exercises and parades, among other things. All these Kaikosha-made goods were widely used by military officers.

The Binoculars bear serial number No.131515. Overall condition is good, though some of the plastic covering of the binoculars has cracked off due to deterioration of the plastic.

- Large 10 X 70mm 7.1° Binoculars by NIKKO With Canvas Carry Case: This is a nice set of WWII issue large Japanese army officer binoculars, offered in very good condition. The binoculars are fully functional, with clear optics and the focus adjustment on both sides working, though the right side is stiff and could use lubrication. These originally had rubber eye cups , however they have fallen off, with just remnants left around the eyepieces.

The binoculars bear the marking for manufacture by Nippon Kōgaku Kōgyō Kabushikigaisha (日本光学工業株式会社 "Japan Optical Industries Corporation"), today known as Nikon, a maker of cameras. They were a major producer of binoculars during WWII. The Binoculars also bear serial number No. 59705 under the maker marking. The right side gives the specifications of 10 X 70mm / 7.1°., meaning that the objective lenses are 70mm in diameter, with a 7.1 degree field of view, and 10 x magnification.

A lovely pair of binos that come more than ready for further research and display.
